About DKFJ
I grew up in LA and then San Diego and have always had a keen interest in design. Since I can remember, I have always sought new ways to manufacture the images I see in my head, as well as new ways to use existing materials and processes.
For years I have been thinking about a line that is completely original. A line like no other anywhere in existence. I believe these pieces achieve that mission. If it's not original than why make it?
I have always been passionate about creating jewelry using steel and diamonds and this line finally gives birth to the shapes I have been wanting to create for a long time. In fact some of these shapes have been in my head since 2005 like the "Flow" cuff for instance.
It is my opinion that fashionable women are the world's largest art buyers. Jewelry is nothing more than wearable sculpture. Women are constantly seeking better design.
I want to blend sculpture and jewelry with my latest line of whimsical designs. I use surgical steel, titanium, niobium, 18 karat gold and diamonds to create these sculptural forms. My designs are oriented vertically while most jewelry designers design laterally. These design elements make an elegant yet bold statement for the wearer. The subtle use of diamonds returns light in all the right places.
These clean lines represent a sculptural element only found within this line of jewelry. To achieve these shapes I use super strong steel alloys that allow me to push the envelope of jewelry design. I feel the result is nothing short of incredible. The steels I use are 316L and 904L series stainless. These are the same stainless steel alloys used by Rolex, Cartier and Breitling in their watchmaking.
I also want to focus on giving back with this new line. Every cuff sold on this site enables a tree to be planted scrubbing tons of Co2 out of our earth's atmosphere. DKFJ is working closely with AmericanForests.org to make this happen. When you wear these cuffs, know that you have planted a California redwood. These trees live between 1200 to 1800 years and grow to almost 400 feet tall. I love knowing that every cuff I make plants one of these beautiful trees.
Also portions of specific pieces go towards promoting the charities below.
My sincere thanks!
